Is it time to abolish ICE?

We are hearing the calls to abolish ICE from many politicians and media pundits in the recent days. ICE represents the rule of law. It was established in 2003 to protect American citizens from terrorists. It did a great job, if not perfect, since its formation in protecting America from major terrorist attacks like 9/11.

The strength of any nation is its rule of law without corruption. Many refugees flee to the borders of America and other nations because there is no rule of law in the nations they flee from. It’s ironic that we want to abolish law enforcement agencies to help people fleeing countries where law enforcement is in shambles! Without ICE and other law enforcement agencies, America will just become like the nations they are trying to escape from. So, abolishing ICE is a bad idea with dangerous consequences.

I move between USA and India. I always present my documents to the law enforcement before entering my home country India and visiting country USA. That is how it should be done.

Some people romanticize the idea of one world with open borders. Remember Acts 17, where Apostle Paul told Athenians,

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation

God made all of us out of Adam and Eve, but after the Fall and after the Confusion at the Tower of Babel, humanity dispersed across the globe. Different civilizations thrived across the globe with ‘the bounds of their habitation’.

The modern socialists dream of one world in which every thing is redistributed. They never mention Venezuela where socialism turned a beautiful and prosperous nation into a horrible, tragic mess.

What about compassion? America takes in more than a million legal immigrants every year, more than all other nations combined. It can do more if needed, but calling for the abolition of law enforcement agencies is foolish.

Have a nice day!
