Recognize the importance of life style modification and prevention in taking care of your health.

Life Style Modification: Tobacco use, Obesity, Excessive Alcohol Use. These three leading causes of most diseases. If you can, try to avoid these three in your life. Increase physical activity.

Prevention: Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Quaternary. Aspirin to prevent heart disease, statin to prevent cholesterol complications.

Always consider prevention using vaccinations, cessation of unhealthy habits.

Patient Education: Educate patient at every visit.

Annal Flu shots: Consider influenza vaccination every year.

Screening Tests: Consider the following Screening Tests. 

Impaired Visual Acuity

COPD

Colorectal Cancer

Latent Tuberculosis infection

Genital Herpes

Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Celiac Disease

Syphilis infection

Skin Cancer

Preeclampsia

Obesity

Scoliosis

Pelvic Exam: It is unclear whether performing screening pelvic examinations would be useful.

COPD: Currently there are no screening tests for COPD in Asymptomatic Adults. If you don’t have symptoms of COPD, don’t worry about it. Stop smoking and avoid smoke exposure. Symptoms of COPD: Cough, sputum production, Shortness of breath, wheezing, fatigue, chest tightness, weight loss, decreased quality of life, exercise intolerance. On Chest X ray, hyperinflation can be seen.

Colorectal Cancer: Risk factors

Smoking, Obesity, Inactivity, Heavy alcohol use, red meat.

If you have strong family history, please stop the above.
