India’s Supreme Court strikes down ban on Homosexuality

Today, India’s Supreme Court struck down Section 377, which made homosexuality illegal in India for over 150 years. This section of Indian Penal Code says, “whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature.”

Now, the judges say homosexuality is natural and Indian Constitution is not a ‘collection of mere dead letters’ and should evolve with time.

I would like to discuss this sensitive issue with truth and love

Truth: Chief Justice Dipak Misra said, Section 377 was ‘irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary’. What is rational and irrational depends on the worldview you espouse. This Section 377 was introduced in India by the British. Even in England today homosexuality has been accepted as ‘natural’. This is inevitable. Just read Romans chapter 1. When people reject God as their Creator and Moral Law Giver, they turn to naturalism and finally hedonism and homosexuality. Thanks to Darwin, majority of people in many nations in our modern world no longer believe in God as their Creator and Moral Law Giver. If God is not the authority on our sexuality, then a ban on homosexuality appears to be ‘irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary’.

But remember, we do not look to Supreme Court, but to the Word of God. According to the Bible, ‘natural’ does not make something good. Many natural things like rape and bestiality are evil. Homosexuality is natural but not holy. It is sinful, because God said so.

Constitution is a ‘living document’? This is an argument borrowed from the West. American Constitution is a living document, Bible is a living document that should evolve with time!!! Folks, God’s Word is eternal and unchanging. Our opinions will change with time, but not the word of God.

Love: Now, it is also a fact homosexual and transgenders have faced lot of persecution in India and elsewhere. This must stop. They should be loved and respected.
