Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said: “I would rather hang out with a nice atheist than a mean Christian any day of the week.”
I would agree with Booker with some qualifications. A Christian without love is more obnoxious than an atheist with love. But remember. For progressives, love means supporting their political pet causes. If you do not agree with their pet causes, they would label you a hate monger.
Jesus commanded us to love others because we are created in the image of a loving God and experienced the love of God manifested in the work of Christ. Atheism has no such justification for loving others.
