Professor Richard Wigmans demands a hateful outcome to believe in God. Richard Wigmans is a J.F. Bucy Chair Professor at Texas Tech in the department of physics and astronomy. In a recent email, Wigmans closes with “I am personally an atheist, but if #45 [President Trump] would die as a result of this virus, I might reconsider.
Let me finally give another prediction, which will take a bit more time before it can be verified.
When history will be written about this period, the word “China virus” will be absent. Instead, we will read about the “Trump pandemic”, the “Trump deaths” and the “Trump recession”.
Really? This atheist needs some one’s death- the death of a sitting US President, a father, a grandfather, a husband, a human being to believe in God? This atheist needs some one dying a horrible death to believe in God? This exposes the callousness to human life we see in our society today. Hatred is so deep that nothing but the death of some one convinces these atheists to believe in God.
God has given us enough evidence to believe Him. Lord Jesus had given us many evidences to believe Him. But some people did not believe Him. They wanted more evidence. Lord Jesus rebuked that generation with the words, “A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.” Matthew 16:4
The sign of prophet Jonas: prophet Jonas lived in the belly of the whale for 3 days and 3 nights. In the same way our Lord Jesus Christ died, buried and resurrected on the third day.
If the resurrection of Christ is not enough for you to believe in God, nothing will convince you. Our beloved Lord would say the same thing to our generation: the wicked and adulterous generation.
Let us hope atheists in our time open their hearts to the truth of the gospel to believe in God rather than demanding deaths of other people, which is despicable.
