Jerry Falwell, President of Liberty University, is in hot water after posting on instagram a voluptuous image of himself with his wife’s assistant. At a time over 5 million people were infected with Covid and hundreds of thousands of people dying due to its complications, we expect our leaders to be somber and serious. But they do not appear to take these things seriously.
Great apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 2:8-10, “Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety”.
At a time like this, Jerry Falwell should be lifting his holy hands to pray for America, Christians and lost souls. But his hands are busy unzipping his pants and touching a woman around her waist. If you start touching someone like that, you don’t stop with waist. Our flesh says, ‘I want more’.
The Apostle wrote, ‘women should dress modestly with decency and propriety’. This woman is showing her belly and her thighs. She also unzipped her shorts. This is not proper for a Christian woman. She should cover her belly button and her dress should end below her knees.
The world is mocking Christians and burning Bibles in our streets. At a time like this, we should set an example. Imagine Bill Clinton posted this kind of picture with Monica Lewinsky. Christian leaders will erupt in anger. We should not be having double standards. Let us hope Jerry Falwell and this woman will repent and behave in a way proper to Christian men and women. Peace!
