Today’s question: Why is Britain facing a gas crisis?
Great Britain is facing a gas crisis. One person describes the scene in these words: “As soon as a tanker arrives at a filling station, people on social media are advising that a tanker has arrived, and then it’s like bees to a honey pot. Everyone flocks there. Within a few hours it is out again.”
Hey, there is a gas tank. Run. People are running to it like bees towards a honey pot. There is plenty of gas in our world. Then what is the problem? There is a shortage of truck drivers to deliver the gas. There are not enough drivers to deliver the gas. Drivers! Such a basic human resource. A nation of 66 million can’t find a few thousand drivers to deliver gas and food?
Government officials said they will consider allowing drivers working more hours per day. So, government has to permit you the number of hours you can drive a truck? This is happening in the nation that gave us Adam Smith, the founder of modern capitalism.
The UK government says, we will give work visas to foreign truckers. Please come and help us. Some people are angry at Brexit. This is why Brexit was a bad idea. Thousands of foreigners left since 2016, when Britain voted in a referendum to leave the European Union. Around 200,000 E.U. citizens left during the pandemic.
Government is ready to bring in 150 military tanker drivers in the worst case scenario.
First, why are you looking for foreigners? What happened to the young men born in Britain? The first problem is there are not enough young men in Britain to start with. Look at the statistics.
The current birth rate for U.K. in 2021 is 11.377 births per 1000 people, a 0.49% decline from 2020.
The birth rate for U.K. in 2020 was 11.433 births per 1000 people, a 0.48% decline from 2019.
The birth rate for U.K. in 2019 was 11.488 births per 1000 people, a 0.48% decline from 2018.
The birth rate for U.K. in 2018 was 11.543 births per 1000 people, a 1.54% decline from 2017.
Observe the trends. Each year, birth rates are falling down at alarming rates. Just 11 births per a thousand people. You see the straight line on the graph which projects the future of the demographics. It reminds me the straight line on the EKG monitor of a dying person.
There are not enough people in Britain to support a simple transportation of goods across that nation. How did it come to this stage?
Be fruitful and multiply. That is God’s commandment to humanity. Be fruitful and multiply. God knows us better than we know ourselves. God’s commandments are made for our welfare. But modern Britain left Bible and adopted Darwinism as its guiding philosophy. Remember how Darwinism was born. Thomas Malthus’ book An Essay on the Principle of Population. Malthus argued that the human population has been growing at an alarming rate that there would not be sufficient resources for all of them. We should control the human population. All public policy in Britain was focused on discouraging people to get married, to start families and to raise children. God of the Bible was told to leave and Darwin became their god.
As people walked away from God, marriage rates and birth rates took a hit. That is how great empires fall. I was listening to a lecture on Sparta today. The Professor was talking about Sparta, the great city state that was once a mighty power in Greece. How did this mighty power fall? The Professor said ‘human biology is not on its side’. He said the Spartans discouraged marriage. They discouraged family life. They encouraged baby exposure. A barbaric ancient practice in which babies were left to die exposed to nature.
The mighty British empire went the Spartan way. It chose the Darwinian illusion rather than the Word of God. God tells us the truth about human condition. When we walk away from God even basic terms start confusing us.
In another news, Lancet, a topic British medical journal published an article titled ‘Periods on display’. It stated, “Historically, the anatomy and physiology of bodies with vaginas have been neglected”.
She is a woman. Calling a woman ‘woman’ is a basic feature of common sense and reality. But even that became controversial in the West today. Women should be called ‘bodies with vaginas’ now. We are supposed to say, I see a body with penis. I see a body with vagina. You can see the disorientation of a society that has no place for God’s word and truth. Lancet, a medical publication that was supposed to take a stand for truth and for reality has gone woke.
The great Sparta lost touch with basic human biology. Britain is doing the same in our time. Neglecting God’s commandments will have grave consequences for a society. The Bible says, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.Galatians 6:7.
When we mock God and his truth, sooner or later, we will face the consequences. Whatever we sow, we will reap.
May God bring Britain to its senses and help it turn to the truths of the Bible.
