Grove City College admitted teaching CRT in its campus. Is this right?
Let us go to Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1876, it got a reputation as a Christian conservative college. I visited it a few times. It has a beautiful campus and buildings.
What I liked most about this college was it does not allow its students to accept federal financial aid of any kind. It set up its own fund, the Student Freedom Fund, to help the students.
Government does not give you money and leave you alone. It imposes its morality on you. You want to follow the Word of God as your guide to your life. But Government says, ‘No, you must follow me’.
Many once great Christian colleges which received government funding have gone completely secular and are dead in the eyes of God. In Europe, most denominations receive government funding and accepted secular worldviews. What happened to those churches? They are dead. There is no life in those churches. They are not preaching the precious gospel of Christ. They are not winning the lost souls. They are only feeding people what is right in the eyes of the surrounding culture.
John the Baptist took a bold stand for truth because he lived an independent life. Archbishop of San Francisco, Salvatore Cordileone, banned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from taking the Holy Communion in his church. She is the most powerful woman in America, second in the Presidential line of succession. Yet the bishop stopped her. That is the kind of independent spirit Godly leaders need in our time.
Grove City College produced such godly leaders over the years because it took a stand for the Word of God. Now it is bowing down to CRT. A recent investigation showed that Grove City College has been promoting CRT in its activities.
CRT says we should fight racism prevalent in our society. I agree racism is a problem but CRT is not the solution. At its roots, CRT is a Marxist ideology. It talks about intersectionality. But there is no God in the intersectionality. There is crucified Christ in the intersectionality. There is no cross in intersectionality. Racism is a sin and the answer is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:4
‘The god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.’
Who is this god of this world? That is Satan. He blinded the minds of people. They created their own solutions. They created their own ideologies. Christians should not accept their ideologies. Ideologies of Charles Darwin, of Karl Marx and of Sigmund Freud have been widely accepted as truth in many Christian colleges.
Grove City officials brought Jemar Tisby to its campus and would like to promote his methods. Jemar Tisby wants to fight racism. That is a good thing. He should preach the gospel, which is God’s solution to racism. He should acknowledge that Christians made a great progress in race relations. Christians started abolitionist movements to end slavery. Christians ended segregation in their institutions. Christians ended ‘equal but separate’ policies. All of that happened by Christian convictions, not secular ideologies like CRT.
Many of America’s and Europe’s oldest universities and colleges were established as Christian institutions. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Oxford, Cambridge, Baylor, Oberlin, Wheaton College… they were all started on a biblical foundation. Where are they now? They are neck deep in Darwinism, Marxism, and CRT. Once upon a time they were run by Bible believing Christian. Now they are run by atheists and agnostics. Satan actively destroying Christian institutions.
The fight between light and darkness, between God and Satan is only intensifying day by day. And this is the time to take a stand for the old time gospel.
You might ask, If we don’t teach CRT, how can we fight racism? Go back to 2 Corinthians 4:4

Note those words: lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
When the glorious gospel of Christ shines upon us, God creates a new heart in us and transforms us into the image of Christ. We join the church, the body of Christ. ‘there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus’ (Galatians 3:28).
God deals with racism by teaching us his truths about creation and redemption. The gospel of Christ is the solution. Christian churches and institutions should preach the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ. They should not buy into CRT and other secular ideologies developed by godless men and women.
Let us hope Grove City College stop CRT immediately and return to the Bible and the Gospel.
