This week Nate Collins has organized a conference for LGBT individuals. His mission statement states,
“Supporting, encouraging, and empowering gay, lesbian, same-sex-attracted, and other LGBT Christians so they can flourish while observing the historic, Christian doctrine of marriage and sexuality”
What in the world Nate Collins and his colleagues doing? This is how worldliness is creeping into Southern Baptist and other conservative Christian groups.
If God says extramarital sex is sinful, we can not add any modifiers. It does not matter whether you did it with consent or with condom. Sin should be called sin, repented and forgiven. What LGBT is doing is sinful. Instead of repenting, they are wearing it as a badge of honor. Instead of abandoning their sin and take a new identity in Christ, they are using their sin as their identity.
There is no such thing as LGBT Christians. It is an oxymoron. It is like ‘premarital sex Christian’ or ‘adulterous Christian’. A true Christian should repent premarital sex and and adultery and stop practicing those sins. He or she should not be turning those sins as honorary self-titles. Homosexuals should confess that homosexuality is a sin before becoming Christians. Holy Spirit helps believers to conquer and abandon any sin.
God loves homosexuals, so should Christians. Yet He is a holy God who asks us to repent and abandon our sins. Homosexuality is no exception.
You don’t need 5 glasses; you just need one glass of Christ’s living water to quench the thirst of your soul and clean all the stains of sin.
So, Revoice Conference is not scriptural. It should have been called Repent Conference!
